OIC to Convene Special Summit on Kashmir in Islamabad Next Year

ISLAMABAD: The proposed foreign ministers’ summit of the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) will be held in Islamabad while the issues of Kashmir and anti-Muslim bill in India will the pivotal point of the agenda of the meeting.

According to diplomatic sources, the meeting would be called by Saudi Arabia and will be held in April in 2020 in Islamabad.

Following Pakistan’s absence from KL summit, Saudi Arabia has ensured Pakistan to call OIC meeting while Bahrain, Turkey, Indonesia and other countries will take part in the meeting.

The foremost priority of the meeting will be the current situation in the occupied valley, which will be followed by controversial citizenship bill in India and also to shed light on the matter about protecting the rights of Muslim countries. The OIC FM meeting has been given a special status after the Kuala Lumpur Summit which took place earlier this month in Malaysia.

Saudi Arabia has taken the step to activate OIC after KL summit and Saudi Arabian foreign minister in his recent visit has taken PM Imran into confidence in this connection.
