LHC Grants Bail To Hamza Shahbaz In Ramzan Sugar Mills Case

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday granted bail to Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz in the Ramzan Sugar Mills case.

According to details, a two-member bench of LHC headed by Justice Muzahir Ali Akbar Naqvi heard bail petitions of Hamza Shahbaz Sharif in two different cases.

Amjad Pervez Advocate, the counsel of Hamza Shahbaz Shari told the court that documented proves were presented in the case and there is no allegation against him while Shahbaz Sharif bail has also been approved in the case.

The court questioned the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor who conducted the investigation of the case and how many directors the Ramazan Sugar Mills have.

To which the NAB prosecutor could not inform the names of the directors name. On which the court remarked that it seems that “your don’t even touch the file.” adding that “you (NAB) people are playing with the whole of the nation.

“You are providing copies of statements, do we have to decide the matter on the basis of the statements?asked the court.

Justice Muzahir Ali Naqvi said that the all in NAB should be given a pride of performance over the standard of the investigation they carried out.

The Judge also inquired why did the NAB take back cancellation of bail petition agaisnt Shahbaz Sharif.

At the end the court granted Hamza Shahbaz bail in the Ramzan Sugar Mills case while adjourned the hearing till February 11 in the assets beyond income and the money laundering case.
