
KARACHI: Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has said that he has taken time for meeting Chief Minister Sindh for the recovery of railways land.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi on Sunday, he said increase in the income of Railways is his top priority adding that deficit of Railways has been reduced by four billion rupees.
He said that he will hold meeting with Chief Minister Sindh tomorrow to recover Railways land adding that these lands after recovery will be handed over to Sindh government for the purpose of circular railway project in Karachi.
Sheikh Rasheed said Karachi is economic hub of the country, therefore steps are being taken to connect the city with other parts of the country through freight train service.
He said that soon responsible officers from Lahore will be posted in Karachi adding that soon tender will be issued for Thar railways.
He said a freight train service is also being launched for Afghan Trade.
