Bilawal Calls For Serious Steps From Federal Govt Amid Coronavirus Spread

KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that in light of the increasing number of coronavirus cases in the country, the government must take concrete steps to curtail the pandemic, which is otherwise set to become uncontrollable.

In a press conference through video-link in Karachi, the leader said that the government should increase the number of isolation centers, ventilators and medical staff to battle the virus and be ready to take difficult decisions.

He said that the government should remain ready to take on the virus and for that, the Prime Minister should reevaluate his policies.

The chairman also called for stopping load shedding and rejected the economic relief package by the Prime Minister. He called the package deficient and demanded that electricity and gas bills of poor consumers should be waived off.

He also rejected the recent cut in interest rate by the government, calling for it to be brought down further into single digits.
