
Islamabad: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health, Dr Zafar Mirza has said that federal and provincial governments are working in close coordination and using all their resources to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the country.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad today (Tuesday), he expressed the hope that situation will improve as a result of strict measures taken most recently.
He said the medical stores and grocery shops will remain open.
He said the people should strictly follow the advisories and minimize their outdoor activities to help contain the virus.
The Special Assistant said the tally of Coronavirus affected people has surged to 892, with eighty nine new cases reported over the last twenty four hours.
He said a mega training program will soon be launched for the health professionals including doctors, nurses and paramedical staff to prepare them better deal with the current situation.
He said the medical staff will also be provided with the equipment and necessary training to ensure their safety.
Dr Zafar Mirza pointed out that overseas Pakistanis are coming forward in large number and offering donations to help the country cope with the Coronavirus.
He said the National Disaster Management Authority which is the lead agency, will receive these donations and further distribute wherever required.
