KARACHI: What can be called an alarming situation, as many as nine cases of the novel coronavirus have surfaced in a day in Karachi, surging the tally to 13 in Sindh and 16 in Pakistan.
Federal Health Minister Dr Zafar Mirza in his tweet has confirmed report of nine cases in Karachi.
240/ I can confirm 9 new cases of #COVID19 in Karachi. All these cases are contacts of an already confirmed case. Further contacts are being traced and tested. This makes a total of 16 cases in Pakistan.

According to the Sindh Health Department, nine people have been confirmed affected with the virus. Six of them returned to Pakistan from Syria and three from London.
The search of their relatives is underway for the tests.
