LAHORE: National Highway Authority (NHA) has decided to open M-11 motorway from Lahore to Sialkot for public which will cut short distance between two cities to 50 minutes.
According to the NHA the M-11 Lahore-Sialkot equipped with modern facilities while the motorway comprising four lines has seven interchanges, six flyovers, 24 bridges, 22 underpasses while three industrial units and two universities will be constructed along the highway.
The NHA spokesman said that the motorway will cut short distance between Lahore and Sialkot from two and half hour to just 50 minutes while the motorway will connect two historic and industrial cities while as the motorway will functional a new era of development will start in the area.
The formal construction on the highway started in 2017 and it was completed in a three year time while credit of its completion goes to Frontier Works Organization (FWO) while it will also look after and repair the highway for the period of 25 years.
In future it will be linked with Sialkot-Rawalpindi motorway while the best services areas, electronic toll and traffic management, security cameras, mobile workshops have been established while ambulance and incident and emergency response unit has also been formed to tackle accidents.
