More 307 Prisoners To Release Today Aimed to Curb Outbreak

ISLAMABAD: Following the court orders aimed to curb coronavirus spread, more 307 prisoners will be released on bail today.

According to details, hearing of the case of 408 prisoners release on bail was held as chief justice Athar Minallah heard the case.

DC Islamabad told the court that more 307 prisoners will be releasing today, on which as chief justice Athar Minallah has appreciated the performance of the DIG in such crisis and said the prisoners languishing in jail indulging in torture cases should have been released as such practice being adopted across the world to curb the coronavirus outbreak.

Advocate general told the court that released of criminals indulged in drugs likely to pose danger for the society, on which judge said, “it is a critical situation a committee will form that will review such cases and the court will accept conditional bail while the committee will decide who should have been released or not.”

Later, the court has formed a committee comprises of a representative of administration, police and ANF and allow the committee to decide release of bailed prisoners.
