Pakistan Suspends Train Service to Curb COVID19 Spread

LAHORE: The Pakistan Railways has suspended train operation across the country from tonight 12: am for seven days aimed to curb the pandemic outbreak.

The notification said that the train operation will discontinue from March 25 to March 31, 2020.

In a notification issued on Tuesday, Pakistan Railways announced that passengers who have advance booking on suspended trains will be accommodated in other trains of their choice on priority once the train service is resumed. In case of not availing ticket, they will get a full refund after the resumption of train operations.

The decision was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by the railways minister Sheikh Rasheed.
