Federal Cabinet Meeting To Be Held Today

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will preside federal cabinet meeting today wherein country’s political, economical situation will be discussed.

Sources said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair the meeting in which ministers, advisers and special assistants will attend the meeting.

A fifteen-point agenda of the meeting has also been issued.

It is pertinent to mention here that the PM had chaired 41st session of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) yesterday after a gap of one year to discuss a 16-point agenda.

Four chief ministers of provinces had also called on the premier after the huddle.

The Council of Common Interests (CCI) had  decided to constitute a committee for judicious distribution of water among all the provinces.

The committee, which will be comprised of water experts, will submit its recommendations about the issue to the CCI within one month.

The telemetry system will be installed at water reservoirs to ensure its judicial distribution among the provinces.

The meeting approved petroleum exploration policy and reviewed Sindh’s concerns over LNG import. The power project at Chashma-Jhelum Link Canal has been postponed.

CCI meeting approved to form a committee on the issue of net-hydel.

The meeting discussed a range of issues including, appointment of the chairman and members of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), amended petroleum policy, LNG import, and amendment in the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) ordinance 2002 and renewable energy policy.

All the chief ministers, provincial chief secretaries and other high officials were present in the meeting.
