Court Acquits Raja Pervez Ashraf In GEPCO Reference

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court of Islamabad on Monday acquitted former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and other eight accused in the NAB reference about illegal recruitment in GEPCO.

The AC Judge Amjad Nazeer Chaudhry heard the NAB’s reference about illegal recruitment in GEPCO.

On conclusion of arguments from both the sides the judge announced the verdict and ordered to release eight accused in the case including former primer Raja Pervez Asharf.

Ashraf and seven other accused were nominated by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in a case of illegal recruitment in Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO).

The accountability bureau had filed the reference against Pervaiz Ashraf in year 2016.
