KARACHI: Mayor Karachi, Waseem Akhtar, has declared emergency in all the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) hospitals in Karachi on Wednesday after first coronavirus case was reported in the city.
Isolation wards have been setup in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH), Landhi Medical Complex Hospital, and Sarfaraz Rafiqui Shaheed Hospital, Gazdarabad Hospital on the directives of Waseem Akhtar to meet the novel coronavirus threat.
The mayor has cancelled vacations of doctors and paramedical staff of the KMC hospitals.
Wasim Akhtar has urged citizens to take precautionary measures and also asked them to avoid visiting crowded places.
