Supreme Court Rejects Plea Against CJP’s Dual Slots

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday rejected the petition against the dual posts held by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Gulzar Ahmed.

During the hearing of the case, the supreme court said that the holding slot as chairman judicial policymaking committee no against the constitution as it further strengthens the judiciary and its chairman not gain any privileges due to post.

Petitioner Riaz Rahi raising the objection told the court that making policy is not judiciary but executive’s right but in response justice, Aijazul Hassan said that apex court judges are the members of the committee and after reviewing the judiciary performance committee takes decisions as how executive can take such decisions.

Riaz Rahi insisting his point told the court that court had void the Pervez Musharraf’s dual slots, on which justice  Aijazul Hassan said: “how can you compare Musharraf case on this case as if the law provides space for another slot then it can be assumed.”

“CJP never become the chairman of the police making committee his own wish as like President always patron in chief of PCB.

On which petitioner demanded to shift the case to another bench, however, chief justice rejecting his demand wrapped up the case.
