Fake Account Case: Accused Will Be Indicted On March 25

ISLAMABAD: Accountability Court (AC) on Tuesday fixed March 25 date to indict ex-president Asif Ali Zardari, owners of the Omni group Anwer Majeed and Abdul Ghani Majeed and others in the reference of Park Lane case of fake accounts case.

The AC Judge Azam Khan heard the mega corruption case of fake accounts while sister of Asif Zardari Faryal Talpur appeared before the court while the court accepted the former president plea for exception of appearing before the court today.

The court fixing March 25 for indictment directed all the accused to ensure their presence on the day.

Asif Ali Zardari, Khawaja Anwar Majeed, Khawaja Abdul Gani Majeed and others will be indicted in the case.

On the court question regarding Khawja Anwar Majeed, the NAB prosecutor told that the accused is in the NAB custody and requested the court that to order the authorities for his indictment through a video link.

Defense counsel Latif Khosa said that the statement through video link is not easy and needs that the federal government will write a letter to provincial government for the purpose.

The court ordered the NAB to submit application today for the recording the statement through the video link.

Regarding Zain Malik, an accused of the case, the NAB prosecutor said that the anti-corruption body has started a plea-bargain process after setting a procedure for payment of dues in the different cases.

Later, the court adjourned the hearing until March 25.
