ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan says the government is committed to protecting women’s constitutional, legal, political, social and economic rights.
In a tweet on Thursday, she said the incumbent government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, is opposed to every sort of exploitation of women.
The Special Assistant said the steps ranging from inheritance rights of women to passage of Zainab Alert Bill show the government’s strong commitment and thinking for women rights.
She said disrespect to women at the media or any other forum is condemnable. She said an incident occurred about it at a television channel is regrettable. She said the media should be more responsible in such sensitive matters.
