Rizvia Building Collapse: Building Owner Admits Bribing SCBA Officers

Karachi: The owner of a building collapsed in Karachi’s Rizvia society has accepted given bribes to Sindh Building Control Authrity (SBCA) officers.

A hearing of the building collapsed was held in the City Court while police presented the owner Javeed to the court in the strict security.

At the occasion the media bombarded questions on him while he blasted on the matter said that the building he has built in 1998 having two-storey and he got the NOC from the KBCA for two storey and later he paid bribes of one lakh each on every roof to KBCA officers.

He said that the officers bribe rates have also increased due to inflation while answering a querry he said that “I don’t know how building fell but God Knows it.”

Javeed said that construction of illegal buildings in the locality has continued by others as well.

It is pertinent to mention here that the builder had been shifted to Karachi along with his friend after arresting thim in Faisalabad.

As many as 27 people were lost their life in the building collapse incident.
